The preliminary extraction of Mtendeli (Tanzania) camp structures has been provided by application of Mathematical Morphology techniques to the pan-sharpened blue band of multispectral imagery.

It has been noticed that the blue band spectral information enable for better distinction of structures mainly covered with a bright material (e.g., plastic sheets, UN tents) which is characterized by high reflectivity within this wavelength.
